The HSEQ Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the implementation, management, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS) for Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) across all facilities management operations. This role ensures compliance with statutory, local, and international regulatory requirements, develops and executes safety and environmental initiatives, and provides technical expertise to minimize risks and enhance operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor HSEQ policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with IMS and relevant certifications.
Drive continuous improvement in HSEQ performance across all projects and departments.
Perform regular HSEQ inspections of building premises, construction sites, and facilities.
Lead internal audits for assigned projects, prepare audit reports, and monitor closure of findings.
Investigate incidents, accidents, customer complaints, and non-conformance issues; prepare and disseminate alert reports to prevent recurrence.
Conduct Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA) for all tasks and locations.
Ensure effective chemical management and decontamination procedures are in place.
Develop and implement emergency procedures, including preparedness and evacuation drills; respond to emergencies and support incident management.
Deliver HSEQ inductions and training programs for staff and contractors; develop and conduct Toolbox Talks and awareness sessions.
Oversee waste management initiatives (reduction, segregation, recycling, diversion).
Lead water management programs (consumption monitoring, conservation, reuse/recovery).
Implement and promote environmental best practices and innovations.
Monitor compliance with statutory, local, and international regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ADOSH-SF, BICSc).
Consolidate and report on inspections, audits, investigations, PTW, trainings, and contractor performance.
Communicate and promote HSEQ programs across the organization.
Interact regularly with colleagues, customers, and contractors to ensure alignment with HSEQ objectives.
Extend HSEQ services to other business units as required, including inspection, investigation, and induction training.
Support continual improvement to enhance compliance with all applicable standards and requirements.
Ensure all needs are identified and fully met to achieve complete employee and customer satisfaction.
Maintain the highest level of quality services for all clients and partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field (required)
NEBOSH certification and ISO Internal Auditor qualification (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality, preferably in facilities management
Strong knowledge of IMS, HSEQ management systems, and regulatory requirements
Skills:
Experience in inspections, audits, investigations, and risk assessments
Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and implement corrective actions
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office and relevant HSEQ software
