Job Description

Risk Assessment:

Conduct and participate in Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Risk Assessments (RAs) to identify potential workplace hazards and recommend control measures.

Inspections and Audits:

Perform regular site inspections, safety audits, and surveillance reviews to monitor compliance with safety rules and procedures.

Enforcement:

Enforce compliance with safe work practices, company HSE policies, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Emergency Response:

Implement and coordinate emergency response plans and procedures, and organize regular emergency drills (e.g., fire drills, evacuation drills).

Incident Management:

Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Health and Hygiene Management:



Monitor working conditions to ensure they are healthy and safe, including aspects like noise, illumination, and ventilation. Ensure that first-aid provisions, welfare facilities, and occupational health services are available and compliant. Promote employee well-being and awareness of occupational health hazards.

Environmental Management:



Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. Oversee proper waste management, pollution prevention, and control of emissions. Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Training and Communication:



Develop, conduct, and coordinate HSE training and orientations for new and existing employees and contractors (e.g., toolbox talks, safety inductions). Foster and promote a proactive HSE culture among the workforce. Communicate safety-related updates, alerts, and lessons learned to all levels of staff.

Documentation and Reporting:



Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities, including inspections, audits, training, incidents, and performance data. Prepare and submit periodic HSE performance reports to the HSE Manager or site management. Ensure all necessary permits-to-work (PTW) are in place and followed for critical activities.

3. Required Qualifications and Skills



Education and Certification:



Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Certifications

(Highly Desirable): NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or similar qualifications (e.g., OSHA, IOSH). Relevant industry-specific certifications (e.g., Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, First Aid).

Experience:



Typically, a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in an HSE role, preferably within the specific industry (e.g., Construction, Oil & Gas,

POWER PLANT

).

Skills:



In-depth knowledge

of relevant local and international HSE regulations and standards.

Strong Leadership and Supervisory Skills

to guide and motivate the workforce.

Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills

for conducting training, delivering briefings, and liaising with management, staff, and external parties.

Proficiency in Risk Assessment

and hazard identification methodologies.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

for incident investigation and developing corrective actions. Computer literacy (MS Office, data analysis software)

Pay: AED9,000.00 - AED11,000.00 per month
