Job Summary:
The HSE & Security Officer/Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring workplace health, safety, environmental, and security policies to ensure compliance with legal and company standards. The role involves risk assessment, incident investigation, training, and emergency response coordination to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health & Safety (HSE):

  • Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare reports with preventive measures.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
  • Organize and conduct HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain safety records, documentation, and permits as required by law.
  • Monitor and control hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal.
2. Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (waste management, pollution control, emissions, etc.).
  • Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact (energy efficiency, recycling, etc.).
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
3. Security Management:
  • Develop and enforce security policies to protect personnel, assets, and company property.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control systems, and security personnel deployment.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and implement measures to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
  • Investigate security breaches and implement corrective actions.
4. Emergency Preparedness & Response:
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans (fire, chemical spills, medical emergencies, etc.).
  • Conduct regular emergency drills (fire evacuation, first aid, etc.).
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.).
5. Reporting & Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit HSE & security reports to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay updated with new HSE & security laws and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with government agencies, clients, and contractors on HSE & security matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001) preferred.
  • Security-related certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) are a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years in HSE & security roles, preferably in industrial, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and emergency response.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of HSE laws and security protocols.
  • Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
