We are looking for a dedicated and proactive HSE Officer to ensure that our cigarette manufacturing facility in JAFZA operates in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture among employees. This role requires hands-on experience in JAFZA, Trakhees, and UAE HSE regulations to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with JAFZA and UAE safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures.
Ensure full compliance with Trakhees HSE standards, maintain safety records, and coordinate inspections.
Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Plan and conduct HSE training sessions, safety drills, and awareness programs for all employees.
Monitor and manage hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental impact control in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date HSE reports, incident reports, accident reports, and compliance documentation as per legal standards.
Work closely with regulatory authorities, internal teams, and management to ensure seamless compliance and reporting.
Promote a strong safety-first culture by engaging employees and implementing behaviour-based safety initiatives.
Be flexible to provide general support to other departments when not engaged in critical HSE duties, in alignment with operational needs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC Certification (Mandatory); Additional certifications such as OSHA, IOSH are a plus.
3-5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally within the tobacco / FMCG / Construction sector etc.
Minimum of 4 years' supervisory experience in a similar role.
Strong understanding of JAFZA, Trakhees, and UAE HSE regulations and safety standards.
Expertise in fire safety protocols, hazardous material handling, and risk assessment methodologies.
Strong communication and training skills to drive safety awareness across the organization.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple safety compliance tasks effectively.
