Job Description

Job Summary:
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workplace. They develop, implement, and monitor safety policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards. The role involves conducting risk assessments, safety audits, training employees, and ensuring adherence to legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Compliance & Policy Implementation:

• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Develop, implement, and update HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions.

2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control:

• Perform risk assessments (JSA, HIRA) and recommend control measures.
• Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear.

3. Training & Awareness:

• Organize and conduct HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns.
• Maintain training records and certifications.

4. Emergency Preparedness & Response:

• Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire, chemical spills, medical emergencies).
• Conduct regular emergency drills (fire evacuation, first aid, etc.).
• Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits).

5. Environmental Management:

• Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental impact.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct environmental audits and recommend improvements.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain HSE records, incident reports, and inspection logs.
• Prepare monthly HSE performance reports for management.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required documents.
