GAL Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates Safety Officer will serve as principal advisor to the Ground Safety Manager and Program Manager on all ground safety matters. Responsible for advising and aiding the Ground Safety Manager in developing and managing a command ground safety program. The Ground Safety Officer will be required to coordinate all ground safety matters among the CommandaEUR(TM)s Staff and will maintain and report appropriate detailed ground safety records and mishap statistics and recommend and establish required corrective safety actions. Additionally, Ground Safety Officer is responsible to collect, analyze and communicate actionable information to assist Commanders in preserving/protecting military combat resources. Qualification & Skills: Certification from a recognized Aviation Safety Course; Accident Avoidance Training; Composite Risk Management (CRM) Training; and Hazardous Materials Training. Must have good knowledge of Special Operations mission requirements, equipment and maintenance programs. Must have strong program management background with a good understanding of contract law and terminology used in aviation contracts. Must have a good working knowledge of all computer applications. Must have strong charismatic and delegating attributes. Must work well with other departments. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 Years of direct related military experience as a unit Safety Officer or 10 years of direct related civilian experience as a safety professional. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The formulation of a safety management system for all ground activity. The incorporation of safety standards and procedures for all ground functions and activities. The coordination of all safety matters among an organization staff. The formal investigation of ground mishaps and incidents. The identification of hazards and risk in daily ground activity. The establishment of a Safety Council for the purpose of setting goals, managing assets, and reviews safety-related requirements and recommendations. The tracking and reporting of safety deficiencies, inspection, incidents, violations and corrective action. The practices and promotion of safety awareness. The establishment of safety training to promote hazard awareness and the safety integrate in unit activities. Collect, analyze and communicate actionable information to assist in preserving/protecting resources. Collaborate with customer safety & standardization on a regular basis and convey ground safety incident reports once occurred. Establish and promote a Just Safety Culture for the program.
