: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our safety program within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, capable of working independently to solve complex problems and drive a culture of continuous safety improvement. This role is critical to ensuring the well-being of our employees, the integrity of our processes, and the compliance of our operations with the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain the company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with local (UAE) regulations and international best practices (e.g., OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Risk Management & Compliance: Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections of equipment, processes, and facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Ensure full compliance with all relevant HSE legal and regulatory requirements.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Apply strong root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to investigate incidents, near-misses, and equipment failures. Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging HSE training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, safe work procedures, emergency response, and specific equipment training. Training must be clear and effective, requiring confident spoken English.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and manage the site's emergency response plans. Organize and lead regular emergency drills (e.g., fire, spill, evacuation) to ensure preparedness.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for all HSE matters, liaising with government authorities, contractors, and internal departments (Production, Maintenance, HR, Quality Assurance).
• Continuous Improvement: Champion safety initiatives and projects aimed at reducing risks, preventing injuries, and enhancing environmental performance. Promote a proactive "safety-first" culture across the organization.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed HSE records, including incident reports, inspection logs, training records, and performance metrics. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.

• Essential: Solid experience as an HSE Manager or Senior HSE Officer within food manufacturing or a similar high-risk industrial production environment (e.g., FMCG, pharmaceuticals, chemicals).
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH International Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely) are required.
• Technical Skills: Proven ability to work independently on complex equipment and processes. Must possess strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Language Skills: Confident spoken English is essential for effective communication, training delivery, and safety leadership. Knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
