Job Description
Position Title HSE Manager Reports to COO Division /Department HSE Job Purpose Ensure compliance with legal HSE requirements and compliance with law of state of Kuwait. Ensures compliance of operations with QMS, HSE control of workplace incidents/accidents, and a safe working environment across the company. Key Accountabilities STRATEGIC
- Monitors the implementation of short-term and long-term Divisional strategy
- Responsible for preparation of safety control measures, policies and plans to be implemented and followed by the organization.
- Responsible for developing and implementing organizational safety programs.
- Liaise/ communicate with all Department heads with regards to workplace hazard control measures and preventive action plans.
- Assist project engineers in preparing and reviving project-specific HSE plans.
- Ensure legal requirements for safety are adhered by management.
- Ensure HSE requirements as per Client / Contractor specifications.
- Promptly and effectively conduct Risk and Hazard Assessments for all activities conducted by the company.
- Proactively conducts Safety Inspections, Surveys, Inductions, Drills, Tool Box talk, Pre-Safety talk, Safety Signage Trainings etc.
- Monitor data records for Incident/Accident rates and provide required statistic for management while recommending preventive measures.
- Oversee all First Aid cases from beginning to end.
- Sets subordinate goals and ensures alignment with Corporate Objectives.
- Nominates subordinates to attend related training events to enhance their professional knowledge and skills.
- Appraises employee work results.
- Addresses subordinate queries and concerns, seeking solutions to ensure synergy.
- Prompt filing and reporting of accident/ incident reports.
- Minimal accident/ incident rates.
- Prompt and effective inspections and trainings.
- HSE Compliance avoiding company-wide NCRs and violations.
- Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Diploma in Industrial Safety required
- First aid, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor Course or similar certification required.
- Extensive knowledge in electrical/mechanical projects and equipment
- Knowledge of ISO or similar Standards, HSE best practices and regulations.
- Minimum of 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 HSE experience in a similar industry.
- Experience in implementation of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and internal HSE audits.
- Experience in identification of workplace hazards and unsafe practices.
