Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. HSE Management & Compliance

Develop, implement, and maintain the HSE Management System in accordance with local legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001). Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and company requirements. Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment, and activities.

2. Risk Assessment & Control

Lead the identification of workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments. Implement appropriate risk control measures and ensure their effectiveness. Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements for high-risk activities.

3. Incident Management

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions. Maintain incident records and report findings to management. Monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.

4. Training & Awareness

Develop and deliver HSE training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks. Promote a safety-first culture among site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Ensure competency and awareness of all workers regarding HSE practices.

5. Emergency Preparedness

Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct regular drills to test readiness and response capabilities.

6. Coordination & Leadership

Lead the HSE team and coordinate with project/site managers, engineers, and subcontractors. Act as the focal point for all HSE communications on the project. Ensure subcontractors comply with project-specific HSE requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent. NEBOSH IGC / OSHA / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred. Minimum 15-20 years of HSE experience, with at least 2 to 5years experience as HSE Lead in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulations (or relevant country standards). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and influence positive safety behaviors.
