for an interior fit-out project. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies on site, ensuring full compliance with local regulations, project specifications, and company safety standards.
The HSE Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents throughout the project duration.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and enforce project HSE policies, procedures, and safety plans in accordance with local authority regulations and company standards.
Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues, and ensure immediate corrective actions are taken.
Monitor and supervise all site activities to ensure adherence to safety rules, method statements, and risk assessments.
Prepare, review, and maintain HSE documentation including Risk Assessments (RA), Method Statements (MS), permits, and safety records.
Ensure all workers and subcontractors follow approved safety procedures and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Conduct site safety inductions and regular toolbox talks for all site personnel.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed incident reports with corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate with consultants and clients on safety inspections and audits, and close out all HSE observations and NCRs.
Monitor compliance with fire safety, emergency procedures, and environmental protection measures.
Maintain records of safety training, equipment inspections, and site safety statistics.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to the Project Manager.
Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities from an HSE perspective.
Promote a positive safety culture among all site personnel.
Requirements
Bachelor's Civil Engineer or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory).
Proven experience as an HSE Engineer or Safety Officer in construction or interior fit-out projects.
Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and construction site HSE standards.
Excellent observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills for coordination with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Ability to work independently and under project deadlines.
Proficient in preparing reports and HSE documentation.
