Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified and proactive

HSE Engineer

to support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across the

AL MAMSHA RASEEL & HAMSA Residential Project

. The successful candidate will help identify and develop solutions to environmental challenges, ensuring compliance with local and federal environmental regulations while promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental Management

Assist the HSE Manager in all HSE matters related to the project, including compliance with applicable standards, permits, and client requirements. Prepare, update, and maintain Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP), permits, and environmental standard operating procedures. Conduct initial environmental and safety assessments to identify key activities, risks, and environmental aspects. Develop and maintain the project's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Waste Management Plan to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company standards. Review project-specific method statements to ensure inclusion of relevant environmental and waste management requirements. Support the development and delivery of site-specific health and safety protocols, including spill contingency plans and waste handling procedures. Ensure environmental awareness is integrated into inductions, toolbox talks, and regular staff briefings. Provide technical support for environmental remediation and compliance initiatives. Design and recommend systems, processes, and equipment for the control and remediation of water, air, and soil quality.

Safety Culture and Compliance

Promote a proactive safety culture across all site activities. Coordinate with different departments to maintain records of project safety equipment, PPE inventory, and related tools. Support site teams in identifying, reporting, and rectifying unsafe acts and conditions. Monitor implementation of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Construction Management Plan (EHS-CMP). Coordinate and ensure regular toolbox meetings are conducted and documented. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records in line with company management systems.

Collaboration

Work closely with the HSE Manager, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Liaise with relevant authorities and clients on environmental and safety matters when required. Support the ongoing development of HSE programs to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and workplace safety.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Health & Safety, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects (preferably residential or mixed-use developments). Strong knowledge of UAE Local Orders and Federal Environmental Laws. Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and related HSE management systems. Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills. Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification (preferred).
