About the Role:

Al Marwan Construct is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced

HSE Engineer

to join our Roads & Infrastructure Division in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, UAE regulations, and ISO frameworks to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE System Implementation

Assist in developing and maintaining HSE management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) in line with UAE labor laws and project-specific requirements.

Risk Management

Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and hazard identifications across activities such as traffic control, heavy machinery, confined spaces, and working at heights.

Policy & Procedure Compliance

Prepare and review HSE plans, method statements, and safe work procedures; ensure they are effectively communicated to staff and contractors.

Permit to Work System

Administer high-risk activity permits and ensure proper control measures are in place.

Incident Investigation

Lead investigations into incidents and near misses; perform root cause analysis and suggest corrective/preventive actions.

Training & Awareness

Deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness sessions to foster a culture of safety.

Emergency Preparedness

Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure site readiness.

Environmental Oversight

Monitor compliance with the environmental management plan and suggest mitigation measures for potential environmental risks.

Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with internal teams, contractors, authorities (Civil Defense, EAD), and other stakeholders regarding HSE compliance.

Auditing & Reporting

Monitor HSE performance metrics, prepare reports, and support internal/external audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of HSE experience

in the

UAE construction industry

, preferably in roads and infrastructure. NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory). Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards. Familiar with UAE labor laws and HSE regulations. Proficient in risk assessment, auditing, and incident investigation. Excellent verbal and written communication in English (Arabic is an advantage). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Computer literate (MS Office).

Valid UAE driving license preferred.
