About the Role

We are looking for a qualified

HSE Engineer

to join our construction team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance within the zone by supervising safety procedures, conducting inspections, and managing risks to protect workers and the environment. Their duties include implementing safety protocols, educating staff, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with both national and RAKEZ regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Policy and standard development:

Support the creation of RAKEZ's occupational health, safety, and environmental policies.

Risk assessment:

Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.

Inspection and monitoring:

Regularly inspect workplaces to ensure unsafe conditions and behaviors are identified and corrected.

Compliance:

Implement and monitor compliance with all relevant HS&E rules, regulations, and guidelines.

Corrective action:

Develop and implement plans for corrective actions to address identified issues.

Sustainability:

Promote efficient use of resources and waste minimization through programs like recycling and recovery.

Requirements

A qualified HSE Officer must meet specific educational and professional experience requirements outlined by RAKEZ.

Education:

A diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, science, safety) is required.

Experience:

Typically requires 2-3 years of professional safety experience, especially in industrial operations or construction.

Specific skills:

Experience in risk assessment and a strong knowledge of management systems like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 45001 are often needed.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications like a NEBOSH International or National General Certificate or a CSP/CRSP/CMIOSH are considered equivalents or additional qualifications.
