HSE Engineer

Job Summary:

The HSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

What you will do?

Ensure compliance with Qatari laws, regulations, and international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001). Implement company HSE policies, procedures, and best practices. Liaise with government bodies such as the Ministry of Labour and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (if applicable). Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification at work sites. Perform regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks. Implement corrective and preventive actions based on audit findings. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports. Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills. Ensure proper documentation of all incidents and maintain records. Conduct safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and site workers. Promote HSE awareness and a safety-first culture within the organization. Develop HSE training materials and organize toolbox talks. Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.

What you will Need?

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Environmental) or related fields. NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory). Additional HSE certifications (e.g., IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) are preferred. Strong knowledge of QHSE management systems and standards. Familiarity with Qatari and international safety regulations. Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis. Ability to develop and implement HSE programs. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment. Good problem-solving and analytical skills. Previous experience in Qatar or GCC is an advantage.
