Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team in the oil and gas/power sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The Safety Officer will collaborate with various departments to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate risks. This position requires strong communication and leadership skills to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Develop, manage, and implement site-specific safety rules and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Coordinate with site managers and supervisors to ensure consistent application of safety policies and procedures across all work sites. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain safety records and documentation, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records. Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement strategies to improve safety performance. Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to occupational health and safety. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (Preference will be Given to Engineering, Enviromental or any other related field). Must have NEBOSH certification, Additional certifications such as IOSH or OSHA would be considered a plus. 3-5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in the oil and gas/power sector. Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Experience working in the oil and gas/power sector or similar high-risk industries. Knowledge of environmental health and safety (EHS) principles and practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
