The HR Associate will assist with recruitment, training, employee relations, and compliance to ensure an engaged, efficient, and high-performing team that contributes to exceptional guest experiences and smooth restaurant operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding of new employees.
Ensure all employee records, contracts, and HR documentation are accurately maintained and up to date.
Support the coordination and delivery of training programs for new and existing staff.
Assist in preparing and processing payroll data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Monitor staff attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Assist in addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances in a professional and timely manner.
Help ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations relevant to the restaurant industry.
Collaborate with management to plan staff recognition events, meetings, and performance reviews.
Prepare HR reports and assist with audits, policy updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff and management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in HR information systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
Professional demeanor with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs and work schedules, including weekends or evenings if required.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations and hospitality industry standards.
Prior experience in HR or administrative support within the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
