Job Summary

The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining guest rooms and public areas to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort. The role ensures that all rooms are cleaned, stocked, and presented in line with company standards and guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Room Cleaning & Preparation

Clean, sanitize, and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned areas. Change linens, towels, and replenish room supplies (amenities, toiletries, minibar items if applicable). Make beds professionally and ensure all room furniture and fixtures are properly arranged. Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop floors. Clean mirrors, windows, and all glass surfaces. Ensure room temperature, lighting, and equipment are functioning properly.

Guest Service

Greet guests politely and professionally when encountered. Respond to guest requests immediately or communicate to supervisor. Report any lost & found items following company procedures. Ensure high level of guest privacy, security, and confidentiality.

Maintenance & Safety

Report maintenance issues, damages, or missing items immediately. Keep housekeeping carts, storage areas, and equipment clean and well-organized. Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times. Use chemicals properly according to guidelines.

Operational Support

Coordinate with Front Office for room status updates (Vacant, Occupied, DND, Out of Order, etc.). Participate in deep cleaning schedules and special projects. Comply with time management and shift schedules.

Skills & Qualifications

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (hotel/hostel/hospitality industry is a plus). Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is an advantage. Attention to detail and ability to work quickly without compromising quality. Good communication skills; basic English is preferred. Physically fit and able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods. Honest, reliable, and committed to confidentiality.
