Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



To clean and maintain guest rooms, guest corridor and service pantry to the standard set by the hotel. To restock service areas and pantries with linen, amenities and other service requirements. Housekeeping Attendants will be required to conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel's policies and procedures, ensuring that a high level of service is maintained. Chemicals. Organize equipment for daily tasks, including trolley, personal equipment Collect daily allocations of rooms and keys. Ensure worksheet is kept up to date throughout shift, and keys are signed out & kept securely. Clean guest rooms to Hotel standards, including making of beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, mopping. Replace amenities.
Replace Bulbs that are fused.

Rotate mattresses.

Deliver clean linen, toweling and amenities to floors.

Collect rubbish from floors and dispose correctly.

Gather and remove soiled linen and other materials from the floors, including furniture and fittings as required.

Clean and maintain corridors, service lifts, stairwells, ice machine louvers, service areas and pantries.

Clean high areas in guest rooms.

Respond to all guest requests.

Make up Baby Cot (BBC) Report maintenance issues to Star Guest Response Report any odd occurrences, carpet cleaning requirements, pest infestations, etc. to Housekeeping Clerk Place robes into rooms according to room category. Maintain service ends and floor pantry. Dust corridor edgings and skirting boards on an on-going basis.
Maintain knowledge of the hotel and local area.

Provide Turn down Service if required.

Carry out the duties of the Runner, Laundry, Linen or Public Area Attendants when required.

Anticipate guest's needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other associates.

Align working practices and conduct with "hotel name" Hotel and Towers Vision; consistently strive to meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external guests.

Undertake additional duties as requested by the Assistant Executive Housekeeper/ Executive Housekeeper and Hotel Management.

Uphold the Starwood Cares culture by demonstrating the Star Service Standards at all times to guests and fellow associates.

Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related "brand name" and Starwood Policies

Key Relationships:



Ensure full liaison with other members of the team. Strong communication with other departments, especially Front Desk Strong relationship with guests and internal customers. Communication with Housekeeping Supervisor.

To ensure that no information regarding guest names, details or room numbers is given to unauthorized persons. Ensure unidentified persons are not allowed access to guest rooms. Report any accidents (guest or staff) To be fully aware of the Health and safety Policy. To be aware of fire and bomb procedures. Take care in work to avoid accidents. To wear correct uniform at all times and maintain standards of appearance, personal hygiene, behavior and discipline. Report suspicious characters or suspect packages. Security of payment. Alert to fraud

Self Management



Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook. Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies. Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self development.

Health Safety & Security



Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety at the hotel.

Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures at the hotel

Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in timely manner and brought to the attention of the Department Head as per Fire Life & Safety (FLS) procedures

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process Must be Computer literate Physically fit and friendly personality
