Job Summary: Our client in Oman is looking for an experience House Manager/Butler to be the main point of contact for running the family compound made up to 5 villas occupied by 5 families + Staff accommodation.
Duties Each villa has its own dedicated team of staff, primarily Nanny, Housekeepers and on some occasions Cooks/Drivers. You will be replacing a member of staff who is retiring so this is an established household with systems/procedures but would welcome an individual who can make improvements. Reporting into one principal, your role includes but is not limited to the following areas:
Staff Management:

Establish a good rapport with all staff (there are 7 nationalities in this compound).
Ensure the staff are properly managed and utilized
Ensure staff are well trained in catering, presentation and taking orders
Resolve conflicts between staff and report only urgent/critical issues to employer

Upkeep of villas

Keeping a well-organized inventory
Keep a record of inventory and report when items are required
Report any items/letters delivered to the Main House
Storage rooms inventory on monthly basis
Liaise with maintenance contractors and suppliers

Kitchen:

Minimize food waste, maintain adequate food storage and hygiene
Working with the cooks ensuring they are utilised effectively e.g. menus offer diverse options, noting family food preferences and offering healthy food by: reducing fried food, no oily food, less salt, less sugar, no processed meat, no frozen food, avoid canned food etc.
Ensure separation of Employers and staff food and ingredients.

Butler duties

You will be required to interface with guests coming to the main House
An extended family gathering over lunch takes place biweekly (twice a month) on Fridays and food is served in buffet dishes for 30+ person during which you may be required to undertake silver service.

Candidate requirements:

Good and relevant experience in a similar role within a private household
Role specific qualifications/training are preferred
Discretion
Respect for all: self, family, staff and visitors
Honesty
Cleanliness and strong eye for detail
Service orientated approach
Fluent English speaker
Beneficial if a driver

Accommodation Accommodation is provided within the compound. In a separate villa at this point sharing with one nanny. The villa has a fully fitted kitchen.
