Job Summary

The House Cook will be responsible for preparing daily meals for a private family, ensuring high standards of taste, hygiene, and presentation. The cook should be skilled in preparing a variety of traditional and contemporary dishes, catering to the family's dietary preferences and cultural meal styles.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to the family's preferences. Cook a variety of home-style dishes, including curries, grilled items, breads, rice-based meals, and traditional comfort foods. Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times. Manage groceries and kitchen supplies, including planning, purchasing, and storage. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and safety practices. Prepare meals for family gatherings or guests as needed. Clean cooking utensils, appliances, and kitchen surfaces after meal preparation. Coordinate with household staff, if any, for seamless meal service.

Requirements

Proven experience as a home cook or chef in a private household. Expertise in preparing traditional, home-style meals along with snacks and occasional special dishes. Knowledge of spices, marinades, and slow-cooked recipes. Ability to prepare fresh bread, rotis, parathas, or similar items when required. Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. Flexibility with working hours, including weekends or special occasions if required. Trustworthy, respectful, and discreet with family privacy.
