The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This role involves greeting guests, managing reservations and seating, and ensuring smooth communication between guests and the service team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests promptly and courteously as they arrive.
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the reservation system.
Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Communicate wait times and ensure guest comfort while waiting.
Coordinate table assignments with servers to optimize seating flow.
Answer phones, take reservations, and provide accurate information about the restaurant and menu.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and lobby area.
Assist with guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests in a professional manner.
Work collaboratively with servers, bussers, and management to ensure smooth service.
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Basic computer or POS system skills.
