Job Summary:
The Hostess/Host is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating operations. This role requires excellent customer service skills, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: * Greeting & Seating Guests:

• Warmly welcome guests upon arrival.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Manage waitlists during peak hours and notify guests of wait times.
• Reservation Management:

• Answer phone calls and assist with reservations.
• Maintain an organized seating chart and optimize table turnover.
• Confirm reservations and handle special requests (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries).
• Customer Service:

• Address guest inquiries and concerns professionally.
• Assist in coordinating with servers, bussers, and managers for smooth service.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Restaurant Coordination:

• Monitor dining room capacity and communicate with kitchen/service staff.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness at the host stand and entry area.
• Help with to-go orders or direct guests to the appropriate staff.
• Additional Duties:

• Assist in setting up and breaking down the host station.
• Support staff during busy periods (e.g., refilling water, clearing tables).
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

• Previous experience as a hostess/host or in customer service (preferred but not required).
• Friendly, professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Basic computer skills for reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Yelp).
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work flexible hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
