A Honey Section Manager oversees the production and operations of a honey section within an apiary or beekeeping facility. He / She is responsible for managing the beekeeping team, ensuring the health of honeybee colonies, and overseeing the extraction and processing of honey. Additionally, the Honey Section Manager may be involved in quality control, hive management, and the development of strategies to optimize honey production. Responsibilities:
- Develop, plan and actualize clear, reasonable and sustainable short, medium, and long-term visions and business plans for the farm beekeeping and honey division .
- Plan and manage all farm activities against set KPI\'s.
- Coordinate with external consultants for farm related activities.
- Prepare periodic reports to the management, reporting the updated current status of ongoing projects.
- Manage, supervise and follow-up the use of resources, assets and livestock and related operations to maximize efficiency, productivity and the long-term sustainability.
- Build a team of professionals and skilled employees, delegate in-house duties, monitor staff performance and oversees work tools to ensure that staff have the resources necessary to perform their jobs in a productive, efficient, and safe manner.
- Oversee and plan human resources requirements, monitor labor cost.
- Ensure relevant technology evolution and its implementation.
- Maintain livestock related data records.
- Cooperate with the human resources department in the recruitment process: headhunting, reference checking, communication with candidates, interviews, etc.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities and infrastructure, including fields and surrounding areas.
- Oversee building of new farms, infrastructure, and subsequent transfer of livestock as and when required.
- Coordinate constructions and general maintenance of ongoing or new projects in the premises of the farms
- Ensure current regulations concerning farm activities comply with local, state and federal regulations.
- Create and manage annual operations and capital budget: prepare new capital improvement project proposals when required.
- Maintain oversight of operations and budget, ensure financial best practices.
- Plan and monitor financial, growing, and technical performance to achieve set targets; plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters.
- Maintain records related to production, regulations and business operations; analyze and make recommendations for improving the operations and financial performance of the farms.
- Collaborate with managers from other departments, individuals, external institutions and agencies on a range of specified issues in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the farms.
- Visit exhibitions and conferences for networking purpose and accumulation of new information.
- Support technically the construction of the laboratory related to Honey production.
- Create, implement, and operate a technology-transfer program to small beekeepers based on the company\'s technical requirements.
- Coordinate a contract-farming program of small honey suppliers.
- Coordinate the research of bee\'s breeding, botanical selection and honey quality.
- Design, develop, and implement an organic honey production plan for the UAE.
- Coordinate organic certification process.
