The Hijama Therapist is responsible for providing safe, hygienic, and effective cupping therapy treatments in accordance with approved clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and patient care policies. The role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, and patient education to ensure high-quality therapeutic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Hijama (wet cupping) and dry cupping procedures following clinical guidelines and infection control protocols.
Conduct patient consultations, medical history reviews, and contraindication screening prior to treatment.
Explain procedures, risks, benefits, and post-treatment care to patients.
Maintain sterile techniques, proper disposal of sharps and biohazard waste.
Document treatments accurately in patient records and clinic systems.
Monitor patient response during and after treatment and escalate any adverse reactions to a physician.
Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies in clean and ready condition.
Adhere to MOH regulations and facility policies.
Participate in audits, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Promote complementary wellness services where appropriate (within facility policy).
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Certification in Hijama / Cupping Therapy from a recognized institute.
Valid professional license or eligibility for licensure from the relevant health authority (e.g., DHA, MOH, DOH).
Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy, hygiene standards, and infection control.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
