Heritage Captain English/ Bilingual (German, French, Spanish or Italian) Speaker We are searching for a vibrant Heritage Captain to join our established company. The Heritage Captain \'s responsibilities include planning travel itineraries, familiarizing customers with the locality by vehicle or foot, and ensuring that the group remains safe at all times. You should also stay up-to-date with new attractions that may be of interest to customers.
You will be responsible for engaging visitors for the duration of the tour, sharing interesting facts about the history of our organization and answering any questions they may have. You will also provide helpful tips on other attractions in the area that are popular among tourists to help ensure our guests enjoy their stay. Duties and Responsibilities - Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times
- Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
- Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered
- Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
handling passport or visa problems, emergencies, illness, accidents, lost luggage and any complaints.
- Answer any questions that the guests have
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of our facility and related topics
- Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
- Escort guests through the tour, taking breaks as needed
- Scheduling visits and purchasing tickets to museums, galleries, protected parks, and other attractions ahead of time, if required.
- Familiarizing yourself with the layout and history of the region or establishment in which you will be working.
- Familiarizing customers with each region or establishment.
- Directing customers to other, non-competing services that might be of interest to them.
- Coordinate with operations department regarding safety, disaster recovery and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure smooth operations for tours and travel coordination with bus captains.
- Provide feedback from tour groups to operations department.
- Review feedback from tour groups on tour services.
- Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations during tours.
- Respond to tour groups\' complaints. Requirements: - UAE driving license is a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor\'s degree is a plus
- Significant work experience in customer service preferred
- Prior experience as a tour leader is advantageous.
- Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
- You should be in good physical condition if the tour involves adventure activities.
- Adherence to prescribed safety codes.
- Excellent conversational skills with a knack for storytelling.
- Personable, humorous disposition.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and improvisational skills.
- Passionate about traveling.
- Ability to work during evenings and on weekends.
- Experience with public speaking is a plus
- Able to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately
- Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
- Exceptional communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including email and word processing
- Depending on the type of tour you lead, your accommodation could be anything including tent.
- You have to wear a uniform.
