Job Description

Job Purpose:

To assist finishing carpenters in performing woodworking and finishing tasks such as installation of doors, cabinets, wardrobes, moldings, and other wood-related works, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency at the work site.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist finishing carpenters in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wooden components. Carry, load, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work area. Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing, and setting up necessary materials. Hold and position materials during cutting, assembling, and installation. Assist in sanding, polishing, and applying finishing materials (such as paint, varnish, or stain) under supervision. Follow instructions from finishing carpenters and supervisors to ensure quality work and timely completion of tasks. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Ensure compliance with company safety standards and proper use of PPE. Perform basic site cleaning and disposal of wood scraps and other debris.

Qualifications:

At least [High School graduate / Basic education - adjust as per requirement]. Prior experience as a carpenter helper or construction laborer preferred. Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in carpentry. Physically fit and able to lift/carry heavy materials. Willingness to learn carpentry and finishing techniques. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
