Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Truck Driver to operate commercial vehicles and transport goods safely and efficiently to various locations. The successful candidate will have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, or tankers, to transport goods and materials. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness. Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards. Plan routes effectively and ensure on-time delivery of goods. Load and unload cargo, securing loads as necessary to prevent shifting or damage. Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries. Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues immediately.
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B, depending on vehicle type). Proven experience as a heavy truck driver. Clean driving record with no major traffic violations. Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations (e.g., FMCSA). Ability to lift heavy items and work in various weather conditions. Strong time management and organizational skills. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in defensive driving or hazardous material handling (if applicable). Experience driving long-haul or cross-country routes. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
