The ideal candidate will have strong attention to safety, a solid understanding of heavy equipment operations, and experience in material handling.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a shovel (electric, hydraulic, or front) to load haul trucks or move materials such as soil or aggregates.
Follow proper digging techniques to maximize efficiency and reduce equipment wear.
Perform pre-start checks and report any mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
Maintain clean equipment and assist with basic maintenance and lubrication.
Coordinate with dispatchers, spotters, and haul truck drivers to ensure safe and productive loading.
Monitor ground conditions and surroundings for safety hazards and adjust operations accordingly.
Comply with all company, site, and government safety regulations and procedures.
Complete production logs and shift reports as required.
