Role Overview:
A Healthcare Assistant (HCA), also known as a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant, works under the supervision of Registered Nurses to provide basic daily care to patients. They are the frontline caregivers who ensure patients' comfort, hygiene, and safety, playing a crucial role in the patient's overall experience.
Key Responsibilities:

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, toileting, and feeding.
• Mobility Assistance: Help patients with mobility, such as turning bedridden patients to prevent sores, transferring them to wheelchairs, and assisting with walking.
• Vital Signs & Monitoring: Measure and record basic vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure, reporting any abnormalities to the nurse.
• Patient Comfort & Safety: Ensure a clean and safe patient environment, make beds, and stock supplies. Respond to patient call lights promptly.
• Specimen Collection: Collect routine specimens like urine, stool, and sputum as directed.
• Documentation: Document fluid intake and output and report any changes in a patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
• Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A state-approved education and certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent is typically required.

• Physical stamina, patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
