POSITION SUMMARY:

The Healthcare Access Manager (HAM) - Insurance is a customer facing role with an extension of market access, engaging with payers, institutions, HCPs and other key stakeholders to deliver value-based messages* of Pfizer medicines and enhance access through affordability programs and innovative healthcare solutions and partnerships.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishes relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers to understand payers\xe2\x80\x99 unmet needs\xe2\x80\x8b and coordinate commercial & access long-term business objectives to maximize access.
  • Create a customized value proposition, based on a deep understanding of payer needs to secure access for new product launches\xe2\x80\x8b, formulary inclusions, value added programs\xe2\x80\x8b (e.g. disease awareness and education), and/or commercial agreements.
  • Develop and operationalize the approved public policy plan or healthcare initiatives for assigned disease area in both government and private sectors - engage stakeholders e.g., Ministries, State Government, state Health Directors, payors, Institutions, NGO, Insurance
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads interactions with assigned sub-national private payers / insurers to establish and build strong long-term relationships beyond portfolio access.
  • Responsible for pricing and non-pricing proposals for assigned sub-national payer accounts to achieve formulary inclusion of Pfizer products.
  • Maps all assigned sub-national payer accounts by applying given prioritization criteria.
  • Develops and execute an annual strategic account plan for assigned sub-national payer accounts with, product-specific and relationship building targets, adjusting as needed based on progress.
  • Arranges and realizes payer engagement plans to achieve the defined strategic goals in alignment with Access and Value.
  • Brings insights on payer needs, interests, and decision-making process to support the Access and Value Product Strategist in the development of the local strategy.
  • Coordinates with Access & Value Product Strategist to achieve formulary inclusion of Pfizer products in assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Negotiates on behalf of Pfizer to enable portfolio access achieving win-win solutions with payers.
  • Optimizes portfolio offer in assigned sub-national payer accounts by developing and implementing innovative contracts.
  • Arranges educational events between payers and KOLs, advisory meetings and other interactions to achieve strategic goals.
  • Anticipates, mitigates, and manages risks to both Pfizer and assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Collaborates with any other Pfizer platform and support functions as well as field colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency in approach and messages regarding assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Accountable for advancing new projects which expand private insurance partnerships.
  • Proactive management of Insurance landscape
  • Data driven insights based on insurance claims

  • Supports the development and implementation of strategies tailored to assigned sub-national payer accounts, with product-specific and relationship building goals
  • Maintains a database of pricing and access offers, performance, and competitive intelligence for assigned sub-national payer accounts to enable gathering of historical insights and inform successful future access strategies
  • Accelerate access timelines of Pfizer breakthrough in the main accounts.

  • Gulf \xe2\x80\x93 Cross TA strategy for new brands Like RD, Oncology, Vaccines and I&I
  • Mapping the insurance landscape and future plans

  • Works in close colaboration with Patient Outcomes & Experience, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales/Commercial/Tender Team, Health &Value, Global Commercial Operations, Customer Analytic and Insights, Pfizer Global Supply and Finance.

  • Geographic Scope Gulf markets (UAE, Kuwait, Oman,Qatar and Bahrain)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Healthcare science (or equivalent)/Business Management degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and commercial experience in pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • 1- 2 years Key account management experience or successful completion of development assignment in key account management or Health & Value is an advantage
  • Multiple Therapeutic Area experience is an advantage.
  • Experience of local laws & regulations and reimbursement process is preferred.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • Market Access and Insurance experience is a must
  • Technical understanding of HTA is preferrable
  • Education degree in health economics is preferrable
