To ensure a safe working environment at all times by implementing, monitoring, and improving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at the construction site in compliance with UAE regulations and company policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Health and Safety Compliance
Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with UAE health and safety regulations and local authority requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
2. Risk Assessment & Control
Carry out risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all construction activities.
Identify potential hazards and develop preventive and corrective measures.
Maintain records of risk assessments and monitor control measures.
3. Training & Awareness
Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and visitors.
Organize and deliver regular toolbox talks, safety drills, and training sessions for site workers.
Promote a strong safety culture among staff and subcontractors.
4. Incident & Accident Management
Report, investigate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure emergency response plans are in place and regularly tested.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation and records.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly HSE performance reports to management.
Monitor and report on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance.
6. Coordination & Communication
Liaise with site management, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure safety measures are implemented.
Attend regular site meetings and provide input on HSE issues.
Ensure that all contractors and suppliers adhere to the company's safety requirements.
7. Environmental Protection
Monitor and control site activities to minimize environmental impact.
Ensure proper waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification (preferred).
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in construction safety, preferably in the UAE.
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
