Head Waitress
This role is a leadership position on the restaurant floor, focusing on the smooth operation of service, team management, and direct guest interaction.

Job Overview:
The Head Waitress is a senior member of the service team who leads by example to ensure flawless service and an outstanding dining experience. She is responsible for coordinating the waitstaff, managing table turnover, handling key guest interactions, and maintaining the highest standards of service throughout the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Coordination:

• Delegate sections and responsibilities to waitstaff, busboys, and runners at the start of each shift.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate specials, menu changes, and VIP reservations.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the serving team on service standards, product knowledge, and upselling techniques.
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback.

Service Management:

• Greet and seat guests, often managing the reservation book and waitlist during peak hours.
• Oversee the flow of service, ensuring timely seating, ordering, and food delivery.
• Handle complex customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and to the guest's satisfaction.
• Personally manage service for VIP tables or large parties.
• Perform quality checks on tables, ensuring cleanliness, proper setting, and overall guest satisfaction.

Operational Excellence:

• Collaborate closely with the kitchen and bar staff to communicate timing, special orders, and any issues.
• Assist in managing inventory of front-of-house supplies (linens, menus, cutlery).
• Handle cash and card transactions, reconcile bills, and ensure accuracy at the point of sale.
• Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and adheres to all health and safety regulations.

Guest Interaction:

• Lead by example in providing warm, attentive, and professional service.
• Build rapport with regular guests, remembering their preferences.
• Explain menu items and make expert recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Significant experience as a Waitress or Senior Server in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct a team effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of food, wine, and fine dining service etiquette.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain composure during busy periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency with restaurant POS systems.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
