Position Overview
GEMS Education is seeking a Head of Student Wellbeing and Safeguarding for The Westminster School in Dubai. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and wellbeing across the school, while providing training, accountability, and continuous improvement to support students, staff, and the wider school community.

Core Duties

• Develop and maintain effective behaviour systems that ensure positive learning across the school
• Lead child protection and safeguarding, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and managing incidents and investigations
• Implement and monitor wellbeing strategies to enhance student outcomes and personal development
• Deliver training to staff on behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral care systems to ensure consistent practice
• Monitor and evaluate safeguarding and student development standards, reporting outcomes to senior leadership and planning improvements
• Hold staff accountable through clear systems, supporting Heads of House and ensuring high performance
• Ensure policies related to pastoral care, behaviour, safeguarding, and child protection are formalised and implemented
• Support stakeholder engagement, building a culture of satisfaction and trust with students, parents, staff, and the community

Candidate Profile

• Master's degree in Education, Leadership, or Psychology
• Minimum 3 to 5 years in a leadership role within a school environment
• Trained in safeguarding and child protection in schools
• Strong knowledge of data protection and experience with data management systems
• Proficient in ICT, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent administrative, organisational, and communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external agencies
• High attention to detail, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
• Commitment to the highest standards of child protection and student wellbeing
