The Head of Sales - General Trading will assume full P&L responsibility for the division, setting the strategic sales direction and overseeing execution across all product categories. The incumbent will lead market expansion initiatives, cultivate high-value client relationships, and drive top-line revenue and margin growth, aligning sales performance with organizational objectives in a highly competitive trading landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution: Formulate and execute a robust, scalable sales strategy that aligns with corporate goals and expands market share across diversified product lines.
Leadership & Performance Management: Inspire, manage, and scale a high-performing sales team; set clear performance expectations, implement incentive structures, and foster a culture of accountability.
Business Development: Lead proactive market penetration efforts; identify and secure new revenue streams across domestic and international markets.
Client & Partner Relationship Management: Develop strategic, long-term relationships with clients, distributors, OEMs, and key decisionmakers to secure recurring business.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and customer preferences to refine market positioning and product offerings.
Commercial Negotiations & Deal Structuring: Lead commercial negotiations; structure high-value deals with optimal pricing, payment terms, and risk allocation.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Reporting: Oversee sales forecasting, revenue projections, and sales pipeline management; deliver periodic reporting to the CEO and executive team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, logistics, and finance to ensure seamless order execution and customer fulfillment.
Sales Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, legal standards, and ethical trading practices across all sales engagements.
People Development: Mentor, coach, and develop internal talent; build succession pipelines for critical sales functions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related discipline (MBA is a strong advantage)
10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior role within the UAE's general trading or B2B distribution sectors.
Proven track record of delivering multi-million-dirham revenue growth and managing complex sales cycles.
Domain knowledge in trading segments such as ELV, ICT, Datacenter components, construction materials, and heavy equipment.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Willingness to travel across domestic and regional markets.
