Job Description
Job Overview: Responsible and Accountable for all production management and related issues for the pipeline production group. This includes monitoring production rates and implementing improvement plans, where required, in order to meet project production commitments. Responsible and accountable for production set up ideology and management, including equipment spread requirements and mobilization and commercial tender inputs for potential future work. The functional leader for offshore pipeline production productivity and quality activities and personnel. Oversees and assumes accountability for global pipeline production equipment, productivity and quality. Develops and drives the pipeline production equipment and operational strategy, in line with group and corporate objectives. Works closely with PPG Senior Director, PMT, PPG management and clients to ensure success and implement improvements across projects. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and direction through senior managers in welding engineering, operations and subject matter experts
- Is accountable for the production performance of all offshore ridged pipeline projects globally
- Measures and continuously improves the effectiveness of pipeline production operations and processes, maintaining and monitoring key performance indicators
- Implements pipeline production strategy and action across the organization
- Responsible for operational production targets and performance and ensuring that the production strategy is effectively communicated and implemented on all projects
- Maintains adequate levels of competent personnel with the department and mentors staff for succession planning
- Develops and promotes a culture in line with the company\xe2\x80\x99s values through the functional group
- Communicates and maintains relationships with key suppliers and vendors for welding, NDT and field joint coatings
- Maintains an understanding of competition and innovation in the industry to monitor upcoming changes
- Other duties related to pipeline production, as directed by Senior Director - PPG
- Over 10 years within the offshore construction industry primarily within pipeline production roles
- Degree in Engineering, Construction preferable \xe2\x80\x93 Experience in lieu is acceptable
- Significant experience in pipeline production environments
- In depth knowledge and understanding of welding & beveling equipment, including Vermaat systems, Clamps, PFM\xe2\x80\x99s, HPU\xe2\x80\x99s line up beds etc.
- Experience of managing multi-functional / discipline teams
- Ability to provide leadership and management to newly formed pipeline production group \xe2\x80\x93 production department.
- Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
