The Role The Board and Executive Principal of RAK Academy are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Primary School to lead British School Al Rams from August 2023. The Head of School will be expected to provide professional, highly effective leadership and management that will achieve outstanding results in all aspects of the school. The successful candidate will promote an inspiring vision and clear direction that is shared by all members of the school and the Senior Leadership Team. Ultimately, he/she will be responsible for ensuring that the curriculum, teaching, and assessment practices inspire high levels of engagement, achievement and progress for students of all abilities. The School British School Al Rams opened in September 2018 and is located in the north of Ras Al Khaimah, nestled at the foot of the Hajar Mountains. The school serves communities in the north of Ras Al Khaimah emirate and the majority of pupils are from local Emirati families. Currently with just under 300 pupils, the maximum capacity of the school will be 600 pupils. The school is a small, friendly place of learning, based in a caring, close-knit community. It prides itself on being a child- centred, happy environment that fosters a love of learning in all its pupils. The school follows the National Curriculum for England as a framework, which it then adapts to ensure a conceptual, integrated, and enriched learning experience for its young learners. British School Al Rams offers a healthy balance of lessons taught by class teachers and specialists. Class teachers teach core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Science) plus Social Studies (History and Geography) and Moral Education. Specialist teaching is provided in Arabic, Islamic, and Arabic Social Studies. Physical Education, Music, Art, and Computing are all part of the adapted curriculum. The school aims to produce happy and successful global citizens, ready to take their place in the world. RAK Academy Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Academy is one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious school groups in the United Arab Emirates.
