Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major metals producer looking to hire a Metallurgical Team Lead to join their headquarters in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

Manage the team and improve standards of metallurgical / metallography department, ensuring a greater understanding of the micro/macro-structure, process and properties within aluminium products (billets, rolling slabs, wire rod, foundry alloys) Interfacing with production teams, effectively engage with internal departments such as Marketing, Casthouse, Sales, Technical Customer Support Have oversight on trials to assess outcomes through detailed technical reports Responsible for identifying and capitalising on opportunities to improve quality of aluminium products Control and manage research and development (R&D) projects

Key Qualifications / Experience

Strong experience working as a metallurgist / process engineer (or in the field of metallurgy) for an aluminium producer - ideally expertise with one or more of billets, slabs, rod, foundry alloys etc. Hold Bachelor or Master's degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science, with experience working within Europe Excellent understanding of applications and markets for aluminium value-added products Experience with R&D projects as well as product development Position based in Middle East
