Redstone Commodity Search are working with a major metals producer looking to hire a Metallurgical Team Lead to join their headquarters in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks * Manage the team and improve standards of metallurgical / metallography department, ensuring a greater understanding of the micro/macro-structure, process and properties within aluminium products (billets, rolling slabs, wire rod, foundry alloys) * Interfacing with production teams, effectively engage with internal departments such as Marketing, Casthouse, Sales, Technical Customer Support * Have oversight on trials to assess outcomes through detailed technical reports * Responsible for identifying and capitalising on opportunities to improve quality of aluminium products * Control and manage research and development (R&D) projects

Key Qualifications / Experience * Strong experience working as a metallurgist / process engineer (or in the field of metallurgy) for an aluminium producer - ideally expertise with one or more of billets, slabs, rod, foundry alloys etc. * Hold Bachelor or Master's degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science, with experience working within Europe * Excellent understanding of applications and markets for aluminium value-added products * Experience with R&D projects as well as product development * Position based in Middle East
