We are currently recruiting a well-qualified Head of Inclusion to join our reputed School in Dubai. The ideal candidate must be well experienced, who has a thorough understanding of the KHDA Inclusion framework and having associated in a similar capacity with schools of repute in UAE.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the strategic development of special education needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school, to support individual student needs.
  • Lead the inclusion team- manage learning support teachers, LSA's and support staff to improve pupil progress and attainment.
  • Experience of using a variety of assessment tools to identify students' needs
  • Work with admissions team and phase Heads, to ensure all prospective students are accurately assessed prior to enrollment.
  • Monitor and assess SEN students & Gift and talented students progress and attainment, including observations in the classroom and meeting with teachers and parents.
  • Work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor IEP's.
  • Provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
  • Make referrals and liaise with professionals - this could include psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
  • Provide advice, guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Support teachers to develop modified lesson plans, schemes of work and learning programmes for pupils with SEN.
  • Support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom.
  • Manage and advise on the resources for SEN provision.
  • Leading CPD, briefings, projects and activities.
  • Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage the inclusion register and associated documents to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Oversee the teaching and support of our SEND and G&T students across the school.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders including, parents, external therapists and external providers. Analyse school, local and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Keep up to date with national and local policies related to SEN and cascade information to colleagues.
Qualifications & experience:
  • A Bachelor or masters Degree in Special Education.
  • A certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed.
  • KHDA approval as SENCO will be preferred.
  • At least 2 years' UAE Experience leading a successful SEN team.
