The Head of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing the immaculate presentation and seamless day-to-day operations of all guest and crew interior areas aboard a 100m+ luxury private yacht. This pivotal role demands exceptional attention to detail, extensive experience in ultra-luxury service environments, and strong leadership skills to guide and inspire the housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and discretion at sea and in port.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight & Quality Control
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and maintenance across all guest and crew interior spaces, including staterooms, lounges, spa areas, and service corridors.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas consistently meet owner and guest expectations.
Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, linens, toiletries, and cleaning products; oversee procurement and stock control.
Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, health, and safety protocols in line with ISM/MLC standards.
Guest Service & Confidentiality
Guarantee discretion and privacy when interacting with owners, family members, and VIP guests.
Supervise cabin set-up, turndown service, and special guest requests in coordination with the Chief Stewardess/Interior Manager.
Ensure guest areas are meticulously prepared for arrivals, with detailed staging and amenity placement.
Team Management & Training
Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team (including stewards/stewardesses and laundry staff) to deliver exceptional service standards.
Organize daily duties, schedules, and rotas to maximize efficiency and coverage.
Provide ongoing training in housekeeping techniques, luxury service etiquette, wardrobe management, and specialized garment care.
Laundry & Wardrobe Care
Oversee all laundry operations, ensuring correct handling of luxury garments, delicate fabrics, and crew uniforms.
Manage wardrobe inventory, organization, and packing/unpacking for owners and guests.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate logs of cleaning schedules, guest preferences, inventories, and maintenance needs.
Liaise with technical departments regarding repairs or maintenance affecting the interior.
Promptly report any damages, malfunctions, or unusual occurrences to senior management.

Qualifications
5+ years' experience in luxury yacht housekeeping or ultra-luxury hotels/private residences with transferable skills.
Previous experience as Head of Housekeeping on yachts 80m+ strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of high-end materials, fine furnishings, and delicate fabric care.
Fluency in English (C1 level or higher); additional languages are an asset.
Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and a proactive, hands-on approach.
Required certifications:
STCW (2010) Basic Training
ENG1 Medical Certificate
Schengen Visa
Additional hospitality or service-related certifications are an advantage.
