Head of General Ledger - Bilingual (Arabic & English)

are looking for a full-time

Head of General Ledger

who will lead the the general ledger function, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with accounting standards, including IFRS. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of financial statements and supporting audit processes. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring internal controls within the general ledger function. You will adopt a proactive approach which will allow identifying and mitigating financial risks, thereby safeguarding the organization's assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for timely and accurate period-end closing of accounting books. To prepare periodic accrual reports. Review financial statements prepared for external audits. Review / discuss / approve - seek approval on periodic GL account reconciliation / schedules. To confirm with OFD on reconciliation of intercompany balances. Responsible for cost center master data (coordination and approval for creation/change) in SAP. Responsible for CoA and review requests for creation/blocking/extending to new companies in SAP. Support the internal/external audit process and provide responses related to financial statements.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is a must. Professional certification is preferred. * Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, out of which two years of which in an international organization at a senior position. Experience in the external audit and/or media industry is preferred.
