Job Description
What we are looking for?
Head of English who:- Has a undergraduate degree or major in English
- Has experience providing inspirational leadership in the English department to produce the best possible outcomes for learners
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience post – qualification
- A demonstrable track record of raising student attainment in English and producing outstanding results
- Has experience in mentoring and developing staff to improve their teaching practice
- Is confident in using a range of data to raise attainment and progress
- Has a recognised leadership qualification (NPQML/NPQSL/MA)
- Has evidence of ‘Outstanding’ teaching practice,
- Is confident in planning engaging, student led lessons
- Is an expert in the subject of English and has a passion to inspire a love of learning in students
- The ability to use classroom technology to enrich the learning experience of your students
- Is willing to make a contribution to the extra curricular life of the school
