Position Overview
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is hiring a senior professional to lead the management and recovery of distressed assets and vulnerable accounts within the Credit Group. The role is responsible for maximizing recoveries, reducing provisions, overseeing restructuring strategies, and ensuring effective management of non-performing loans (NPLs) across domestic and international portfolios.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of distressed assets and achieve financial targets for collections, provision reduction, IIS, and P&L improvement
  • Lead, motivate, and direct a team of professionals to deliver maximum recoveries and client turnarounds
  • Negotiate restructuring, rescheduling, or workout solutions with clients, pursuing legal actions where necessary
  • Develop and implement collection strategies that adapt to changing economic and legal environments
  • Evaluate restructuring and settlement proposals, recommending them for management approval
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, legal advisors, and collection agencies
  • Ensure capacity planning, load-balancing, and continuous training for the collections team
  • Oversee international regions managing distressed portfolios, ensuring settlements, restructurings, and legal actions are executed effectively
  • Maintain strict adherence to the bank's code of conduct, reputation management, and regulatory frameworks including KYC and AML requirements
  • Contribute to audit readiness, ensuring a low audit risk rating for the unit
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline (advanced qualifications preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years of consumer banking experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven expertise in distressed asset management, collections, and recovery strategies
  • Strong negotiation and restructuring skills with ability to manage sensitive and complex client cases
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and legal frameworks related to collections
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a client-focused, ethical approach
