Position Overview

A prestigious healthcare institution in Qatar is seeking a highly qualified Head of Department for Pediatrics to lead its pediatric division. The ideal candidate must be American Board Certified in Pediatrics and fluent in Arabic, with a strong background in clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping pediatric services, driving clinical excellence, and mentoring the next generation of pediatricians.



Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Pediatric Department, ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care Oversee clinical operations, departmental strategy, and service development Supervise and support pediatric consultants, specialists, and junior staff Ensure compliance with national and international clinical standards and accreditation requirements Collaborate with hospital leadership on resource planning, budgeting, and quality initiatives Promote a culture of continuous learning, research, and professional development Engage in community outreach and patient education initiatives Represent the department in internal committees and external forums

Qualifications & Experience

American Board Certification in Pediatrics (mandatory) Minimum 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role Fluency in Arabic and English Proven experience in managing pediatric services in a tertiary or academic setting Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills Familiarity with GCC healthcare systems and cultural context is highly desirable
