Job Summary:
The Head of Department (Mathematics) is responsible for providing academic leadership, managing departmental operations, and ensuring high standards in teaching, research, and curriculum development. The role involves overseeing faculty, fostering student success, and promoting innovation in mathematical education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development:

• Develop and review the mathematics curriculum to ensure alignment with institutional and national standards.
• Promote innovative teaching methodologies and integration of technology in mathematics education.
• Ensure the department offers a balanced program covering pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, and related fields.

2. Faculty Management & Development:

• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate mathematics faculty members.
• Organize professional development workshops and training for staff.
• Foster a collaborative and research-oriented academic environment.

3. Student Support & Success:

• Monitor student performance and implement strategies to improve learning outcomes.
• Address student concerns related to mathematics courses and examinations.
• Encourage student participation in math competitions, research projects, and extracurricular activities.

4. Administrative & Operational Duties:

• Prepare departmental budgets and manage resources efficiently.
• Schedule classes, assign teaching loads, and coordinate examinations.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation requirements.

5. Research & Collaboration:

• Promote research activities and secure funding for mathematical research projects.
• Collaborate with other departments, industry partners, and academic institutions.
• Represent the department in academic committees and conferences.

6. Quality Assurance & Accreditation:

• Implement assessment strategies to maintain high academic standards.
• Prepare reports for accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies.
• Continuously improve teaching and learning processes based on feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:

• A Master's or Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong record of academic research and publications (preferred).
