Job Description
** Due to regulatory requirements, we are looking for a UAE National for this role. **Our client is seeking a seasoned Head of Corporate Governance to join their dynamic team. You\'ll play a pivotal role in leading and developing the corporate governance strategy, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust corporate governance framework aligned with regulatory guidelines.
- Lead the review and update of board and committee charters, policies, and procedures.
- Partner with senior management to foster a culture of ethical conduct and risk awareness.
- Oversee board and committee meetings, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices.
- Make recommendations for technology solutions to implement automation of governance processes
- Ensure that relationships are maintained with regulators and liaise with external parties such as auditors, advisors, lawyers and shareholders.
- Provide comprehensive governance support, including recordkeeping and document management. Act as the custodian for critical documents like governance charters, policies, procedures, delegations of authority, and signatory lists
- Minimum 10 years\' experience in corporate governance, or compliance, within the banking sector.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective corporate governance frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of relevant local banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
