Lead the design, implementation, and review of the curriculum within the subject area.
Ensure schemes of work are up-to-date, inclusive, and aligned with national standards.
Promote innovative and engaging teaching strategies across the department.
Monitor and evaluate teaching quality across the department.
Support staff with lesson planning, differentiation, and use of assessment for learning.
Provide support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to subject teachers.
Conduct lesson observations, learning walks, and performance appraisals.
Encourage collaboration, sharing of resources, and a strong team ethos.
Track and analyze student performance data to identify strengths and areas for development.
Implement intervention strategies to raise achievement and close attainment gaps.
Manage departmental resources, including teaching materials and textbooks. Communicate regularly with SLT, parents, and external bodies where appropriate. Skills
Degree in Fine Arts.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Proven teaching experience with a record of raising achievement.
Ability to analyze data and drive improvement.
