About the Company

Greeneration is a technology-driven vertical farm in Dubai. We grow and supply edible flowers and rare greens to the best hotels and restaurants in the UAE. We have two production facilities with a total area of about 1500 m, and our international team consists of about 70 people.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Agronomy who will bring deep expertise in edible flowers, rare greens, and hydroponic farming to optimize yields and quality. This role is focused on driving innovation, improving farming practices, and ensuring the highest standards in our high-tech agriculture operations. The key performance indicators (KPIs) for this role are yield per square meter and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Crop Management and Development:

Lead the development and implementation of advanced cultivation techniques tailored for vertical farming, with a focus on edible flowers and rare crops Implement cutting-edge technologies to maximize yield and quality

Plant Health and Agronomic Practices:

Manage plant health, integrated pest management systems, and in-house processes for nutrient solution preparation Monitor plant and substrate conditions, and manage irrigation, lightenings and nutrient delivery systems to maintain high yields

Research and Development (R&D):

Conduct experiments to improve crop varieties and develop new product Test and develop new crops Integrate innovative farming methods into production

Quality Control:

Establish and maintain strict quality standards for all produce Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments to ensure compliance with local and international standards Establish and maintain HACCP

Data Management and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of performance, health, and crop yields Analyze data to make informed decisions and continuously improve farming practices

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Coordinate with production, warehouse, logistics and sales

Sustainability:

Promote and implement sustainable farming practices to reduce environmental impact

Required Qualifications (Must-haves)

Education:

Higher education (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field

Experience:

Overall industry experience of at least 5-8 years in a senior role within high-tech agriculture Mandatory experience working on vertical farms, particularly with hydroponics Proven experience in growing edible flowers, rare and leafy greens, and microgreens Experience with large-scale production (area greater than 500 m) Team management experience as an advantage

Skills:

Deep practical knowledge of integrated pest management and mixing nutrient solutions independently In-depth knowledge of plant physiology, crop management, and sustainable farming practices Fluency in English Proficiency with agricultural technologies, data analysis tools, and office software

Preferred Skills and Experience (A plus)

Experience in growing mushrooms and strawberries Master's degree or PhD Knowledge of local and international agricultural regulations, as well as food safety practices (HACCP) Work experience in the UAE

Full-time, on-site (8:00 am-6:00 apm from Monday till Saturday)
