Job Description

Job Summary:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and leading the culinary team. This role requires creativity, leadership, and a strong commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Management & Operations

  • Plan and direct food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations (HACCP, OSHA, etc.).
2. Menu Development & Food Quality
  • Design and update menus in line with seasonal availability and customer preferences.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Innovate new dishes while maintaining the restaurant's culinary standards.
3. Team Leadership & Training
  • Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff (sous chefs, line cooks, prep staff).
  • Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting
  • Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Work with management to set budgets and pricing strategies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for quality ingredients at competitive prices.
