The Role
The role of the Head Baker is to lead the baking department with success by taking ownership of all things related to baking and maintaining an organized and efficient process for regular operations. The Head Baker runs their area with attention to detail, creating a vibrant culture and a healthy team setting. They execute Alpha Flight Services high standards and hold their team accountable to these standards. . As a Head Baker you are responsible to take care of the entire bakery section and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as: . Responsible for supervising the food production for the bakery section. . Ensure that all food items prepared are in accordance with the menu specification and Hygiene and Safety standards. . Make sure that all assigned production staff carry out their duties in a set time frame. . Assist in the development and implementation of new dishes. . Ensure that assigned staff receive and follow given recipes and methods keeping wastage to a minimum. . Maintain a proper stock rotation and manage on time deliveries. . Supervise the staff in the implementation of work procedures and report non-conformances to the Production Manager . Comply with the Company Occupational Health & Safety Policy and quality requirements . Conducts, under the guidance of the Production Manager and the management, such functions as hiring specific levels of employees, employee orientation, coaching and suspension if necessary to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity. . Conducts formal and on-the-job training sessions for kitchen employees
